Zalando debut Viktor & Rolf sustainable collection
Online fashion platform Zalando has collaborated with fashion designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren (together, Couturiers Viktor & Rolf) to create a bold new fashion collection RE:CYCLE. The theme for the collection is both popular and profound: sustainability.
Fashion is one of the world’s most polluting industries, less damaging to the planet only than the oil industry. Ironically, however, the consumers that patronize it are amongst the most environmentally aware sectors of the world population. As a result, there is a new consciousness growing amongst designers and fashion brands that seeks to embrace a greener ethos.

The avant-garde design duo released the following statement about the new collection: “With our past haute couture collections, we have explored creative recycling methods: new, artistic ways to reuse elements from the past to create something new. With our upcoming collaboration with Zalando, we are excited to bring forth this spirit of sustainable fashion in a bold and accessible way by breathing new life into forgotten garments.”
Zalando’s share price has appreciated by 8% so far this year

Jolanda Smit, Director of Group Brand Relations Marketing at Zalando said: “By teaming up with Viktor&Rolf we are offering our consumers a conscious style. It is incredible to see how Viktor&Rolf transform old garments into something new and beautiful. It prolongs the life cycle of fashion. Their creations go beyond haute couture, which fits our purpose to reimagine fashion for the good of all.”
