Xylem named in top ten of Fortune’s 2018 “Change the World” list
Global water technology company Xylem Inc. has been named as one of the 50 companies making the largest social impact on the world by Fortune Magazine. Fortune’s “Change the World” list is an annual event that honours those companies which have social change written in as part of their DNA – and this year, Xylem features in the seventh place. In Xylem’s case, this is a recognition of the impact that its innovative solutions to global water challenges are having on the planet.

Patrick Decker, Xylem’s president and CEO, made the following comment over the honour: “At Xylem, we are privileged to operate in an industry where we pioneer innovative approaches and technologies that are not only core to our business, but also have a lasting impact on communities. We are honoured to be recognized by Fortune as a company that is driving social impact. This is a testament to the work of Xylem’s nearly 17,000 colleagues who are committed to making water safer, more accessible and more affordable for people and communities around the world.”
Fortune particularly praised Xylem’s on-going work to make cities more resilient to the ever-worsening effects of global climate change and natural disasters, as well as its initiatives to advance smart water solutions.
It’s not the first time Xylem has received such an honour. The company has been included in Forbes and JUST Capital’s ‘America’s Most JUST Companies’ list, as well as featuring in the top ten of Barron’s inaugural list of the 100 most sustainable companies in the U.S.
