Selena Gomez announces fashion collaboration with Puma
Selena Gomez has announced that she will become Puma’s newest celebrity designer, possibly taking on similar duties to those of R&B sensation Rihanna, who works with the brand as a collaborator, designer and creative director.
This is a natural fit for Gomez, who is frequently seen at fashion weeks around the globe. It’s also a great move by Puma, which will look to leverage the 25-year old singer’s massive fan base. Gomez is a Millennial icon, having grown up in the public eye, and has a huge presence on social media. Her Instagram account, for example, recently broadcast a shot of her in a Puma top to more than 127 million followers.

In a statement, Gomez said: “Being part of the PUMA family is very exciting for me. PUMA has changed the game when it comes to the mash-up of athletic wear and fashion. It’s amazing to see this influence on style and culture and I’m excited to be a part of it. I am hoping that we can create something special together. We already have some really cool projects in the works.”
Gomez, who is recovering from a recent kidney transplant, has played in these waters before, having been responsible for the wildly successful Selena Gomez for Coach campaign. In addition to exploring her fashionable side, she is starring in Woody Allen’s new movie – a surefire way to keep her celebrity appeal current.
