PayPal pushes Xoom into Canada

Online payments giant PayPal has launched its international money transfer app Xoom in Canada. Canadians can now use the app to post money around the world, pay bills or reload phones with credit across more than 130 countries internationally. Convenience is only half the deal, as PayPal’s notorious for offering lower-cost services to users – all part of its plan to bring quality financial services to those that need it most. In Xoom’s case, it describes its international rates as “competitive”. This is a big deal for PayPal, as Xoom’s increased presence in North America is being described as a “significant milestone”.
