“Online dating giant looking to meet Latino singles for fun and more”
Match Group, the company behind services like Match.com, Plentyoffish, and Tinder, has partnered with Univision Communications (the leading media company serving Hispanic America) to launch a new part of the digital dating revolution. The launch of Chipsa, an app that looks to connect Latino singles in the U.S., was announced yesterday. It’s free, and available for Android and iOS. The app is a reflection of the high number of single Latinos in the States: of the country’s 57 million U.S. Hispanics, 13 million are “single, unmarried, or not in a relationship.”

Bryan Jewell, general manager of Match Affinity, said: "We pride ourselves in providing our members with access to a network where they can find commonality and build relationships. We are delighted to help create a place where Latinos can create new connections."
Chipsa seems to have taken notes from the Tinder playbook, using swipe functionality and Facebook and SMS sign on for quick access. This is a great sign, as Tinder has long been the outperforming property in Match’s stable – its quick and easy learning curve matched with gamification was an instant hit.
John Buergler, senior vice president of growth initiatives and Univision Local media, said: "No other company knows Hispanic consumers the way UCI does and no other company knows more about connecting in the 21st century than the Match Group; together we've been able to introduce a product that serves highly connected, tech-savvy Hispanic young people in a culturally relevant and fun way."
