Live Nation best LGBTQ employer in U.S.
According to the Human Rights Campaign, live event mastermind Live Nation is the best place to work in the U.S. if you are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ). The Campaign rated 947 of the nation’s biggest businesses, and Live Nation was one of the rare few to score a perfect 100% on equality between straight and binary-gendered employees, and LGBTQ employees. The ratings included a study of non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community.

LGBTQ equality is a hot topic amongst younger consumers. Millennials and Boomlets look up to a number of LGBTQ stars – such as ‘gender-fluid’ siblings Jaden and Willow Smith (son and daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett), bisexual pop stars Miley Cyrus and Azealia Banks, and transgender actress Laverne Cox. Equality may be a moral good – but it’s also an important value for businesses that want to appeal to this demographic.
Live Nation’s CEO, Michael Rapino, responded to the news via a press release, saying: “Live music brings together fans of all different backgrounds while also encouraging self-expression, and at Live Nation we do everything we can to promote that same culture of inclusion for our employees. As the world’s leader in live entertainment, we are proud to empower the LGBTQ community through concerts and career opportunities, and are honored to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign.”
