Kering & LVMH work together to launch WeCareForModels.com
Towards the end of last year, the unthinkable happened: two of the biggest names in luxury, long time rivals LVMH and Kering, came together to champion a common cause. The cause in question was the health, happiness and wellbeing of a vital part of its workforce, fashion models. Models may seem to have glamorous lifestyles, but the realities of the industry can be unforgiving, with a history of eating disorders, drug abuse, stress, and more. Kering and LVMH have set out to change that.

This week, the two titans of the fashion industry took a big step forward. After signing a charter together last September, the companies have launched WeCareForModels.com. The website, aimed at the models themselves, contains information about healthy diets, mental wellbeing and more. It features advice from health professionals and statements from a collection of fashion’s most notable names, like designer Stella McCartney, Christian Dior Couture’s artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri, and Gucci CEO Marco Bizzarri.
Antoine Arnault, Berluti chief executive and son of LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault, spoke at the Business of Fashion’s VOICES 2017 gathering. There, he reiterated the importance of the charter, and the companies’ willingness to enforce it. He said:
“We have no problem at all not to work with modelling agencies who don't meet this charter no matter how big they are in this industry. If they don't comply, we will not work with them anymore."
Dominion holds Kering and LVMH in its Global Trends Luxury Fund.
