Kering gets a facelift with beautiful new website

Kering, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious luxury companies, has given itself a bold new look. Well, online, at least. The owner of high-end brands like Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Balenciaga, has clearly made an effort to display its design pedigree, offering a sleek interface replete with poetic copy and a stunning brands video, that’s available in French, Italian, English and Chinese.

Under the signature heading ‘Empowering Imagination’ Kering explains the values behind the company: “It’s putting creation at the heart of everything we do. By entrusting our Houses to uniquely talented individuals and giving them total creative freedom, a guarantee of creative risk-taking and sincerity. By offering our clients unique and authentic experiences that respond to their desires for affirmation and self-expression.”

While the values behind Kering’s business are a major part of explaining its popularity amongst younger, more internet-savvy, luxury consumers, there’s far more to the website than that. Amongst the headline grabbing subjects that are likely to appeal particularly to millennials are lengthy sections detailing its approach to sustainable development and more.

Add to that real-time editorial content, press releases, and plenty of visual and video space, and you have something that resembles a curated online magazine (or, rather, a selection of them – one for each brand).

As Kering said in its own press release: “True to its primary vocation, the new Kering site brings together all of the Group’s resources and news, and presents them in an editorial form: strategy and governance, the Group’s history, financial information, an attractive space dedicated to talent gathering together all of Kering’s and its Houses’ job offers, along with its sustainable development strategy, commitments to gender equality and cultural projects.”
