Global Payments joins partnership to establish Payment Innovation Hub in Barcelona

Global Payments Inc., a leading provider of payment technology services worldwide, is partnering with CaixaBank, Visa, Samsung and Arval, to create a Payment Innovation Hub in Barcelona. This hub will be amongst the first such body established, and will bring industry leaders together from around the world in an attempt to further disrupt the Ecommerce trend, creating new and innovative payment solutions and purchase experiences in line with “evolving technology and market trends”, according to Global Payments’ press release.

The hub’s many experts will bring a multidisciplinary approach to the problems of Ecommerce’s evolution. They will include R&D, Technology, market analysis and business development specialists, as well as much more. Some of the areas they are looking to explore include the Internet of Things, omnichannel payment solutions, and “virtual channels”.
