FedEx brings ‘Holiday Joy’ to the streets with mobile gifting truck

Logistics- and delivery-giant FedEx has debuted a unique way to help customers “deliver joy” on the back of a recent survey. The survey in question suggests that people have a deep emotional connection with gift giving, and take “joy” in the holiday season both from receiving and giving gifts to one another. FedEx says it lets them “feel more connected to loved ones” as they can share in the holiday spirit no matter where they are in the world. With that in mind, the company has decided to make it easier than ever before – with a mobile gifting truck!

80% of respondents revealed how deeply they felt about gift giving, and FedEx expects the average customer to send five or six presents this year. Today, the company is bringing its mobile gifting truck to New York’s “iconic Fifth Ave.” and offering shoppers a choice of four “specially curated” gifts for the following people: the traveller, the foodie, the music lover and the home décor aficionado.

Catherine Lowe, a TV personality and entrepreneur, has helped curate the collection. She also picked one of the gifts: the home décor-facing scented candle. She said: “the holiday season is a great reminder to give thanks and recognise those who mean the most to us. The candle I selected brings me joy and comfort, and I love giving it to loved ones to help deliver those same feelings.”

Patrick Fitzgerald, senior vice president of integrated marketing and communications at FedEx, added: “At FedEx, our purpose has always been to connect people and possibilities around the world. What we deliver goes beyond the physical package, and our involvement affects personal, business, family and community events, by helping build moments and memories for our customers.”
