Fancy a pizza on the go? Domino’s got your back
Fast food giant Domino’s Pizza is making a big push to become the choice of people on the go. The company has distinguished itself in the past by making Domino’s Pizza a more convenient choice than its competitors. In the fast food world (and, it turns out, most other worlds) that can make a big difference. Hence, Domino’s has spared no effort in taking the lead, using apps and other innovative strategies. One of its most recent, delivery hotspots, saw the company start accepting public places as delivery addresses, meaning you could grab a pizza while on the go. Now, Domino’s is taking this approach a step further, letting customers order in their cars!

So, now you can order a Domino’s Pizza from your car. Who cares? It might not seem like a huge step forward, but just a touch more convenience can often make the difference in repeat custom: the fewer barriers you place between a consumer and a brand, the better the uptake will be. Domino’s knows this better than most.
The company is partnering with Xevo to create an app that lets you order food through your cars infotainment system, with no need for another device (such as a smartphone) involved. Driving along, just press a button at the traffic lights, and you’re done. You can place an Easy Order (which will bring you your pre-selected favourite pizza) or simply repeat your last order, both with one click. If you have more time to spare, like you’re stuck in a traffic jam, you can order from a menu through the app as normal.
According to Domino’s and Xevo, the app is going to be pre-loaded on “millions” of cars later this year. At time of writing, neither company has announced which car brands will be supporting the app, nor exactly when it will hit the road.
Dominion holds Domino’s Pizza in its Global Trends Managed Fund.
