Carnival Corp – P&O serves up a treat for tennis fans
Carnival Corp Plc brand P&O Cruises have partnered with Tennis Australia ahead of the 2018 Australian Open.
The cruise company will offer as part of their main events line-up a series of tennis themed round trip cruises. The round trip cruises leaving from Sydney will invite guests upon both the Pacific Eden, an S class cruise ship with capacity for 1258 passengers and 557 crew, and the Pacific Explorer, a sun class ship with up to 1998 passengers and 924 crew, for a 5 day round trip.
Guests aboard the Pacific Eden will have the excitement of being accompanied by Ken Rosewall, a former world class tennis player who has 18 major titles to his name and played in the Wimbledon final on 4 occasions. Whilst tennis fans aboard the Pacific Explorer will enjoy the presence of Kim Warwick 4 time Grand Slam Doubles title holder and Australian Open finalist.
The tennis stars will join the ships on the first part of their journey to Melbourne and indulge guests with a Q&A session and photo opportunities, and once they reach Melbourne the ships will host even more Tennis Stars! With Pacific Eden hosting Davis Cup Winner Mark Philippoussis and Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic for questions and photos and Todd Woodbridge a multiple time Grand Slam Doubles winner, meeting guests on Pacific Explorer.
During both cruises guests won't miss out on the action of the Australian Open with the days matches being streamed live on the ships’ big screens. Pacific Eden even boasts outdoor tennis courts on its top desk giving guests the chance to work on their serves while breathing the salt air and feeling the refreshing sea breeze.
