Anta Sports will sponsor 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing

Chinese sporting apparel and equipment maker, Anta Sports, has been named as the fourth domestic sponsor of the upcoming Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing. The games will take place in 2022, giving the company plenty of time to get its designs right!

Zhang Jiandong, the executive vice president of Beijing 2022 and the city’s vide-mayor, described Anta’s role in the outfitting of Chinese athletes, saying it would provide the Chinese Olympic team – as well as Beijing 2022, with “sportswear containing typical Chinese elements to showcase China’s national image.”

2022 will mark Anta’s first outing as an Olympic and Paralympic sponsor. However, the brand has had involvement in previous years, providing the uniforms for the Chinese National Olympic team in Rio 2016.

Anta, which has 7000 of its own-branded stores in China as well as 600 Fila retail outlets (after acquiring the brand’s Chinese operations in 2009), will join three top-tier sponsors to promote the Games. They are Bank of China, Air China, and Yili Group.

Anta has additionally promised to “help promote Winter Sports development in China” beyond its association with Beijing 2022.
