Amadeus’ tech makes its way to Pristina Airport
Amadeus IT, a giant in behind-the-scenes travel management that supplies software solutions to a huge number of providers, has found a new home in Pristina Airport, Kosovo. The company will provide two pieces of software – Altéa Ground Handler Departure Control Solution (DCS), and Cloud-based Baggage Reconciliation System (BRS) – to help the airport run more efficiently. Since implementing the software, Pristina has improved interoperability and reduced processing costs by as much as 20%.

The airport’s chief operating officer Gökmen Aritay, highlighted the value that Amadeus’ tools have brought to Pristina, saying: “As we continue to grow our passenger numbers, open new routes and attract airlines, it is vital that we operate a cost-efficient, agile and reliable operations, underpinned by a fully integrated suite of solutions."
“That is why we have chosen both the Amadeus Altéa Ground Handler Departure Control and Amadeus BRS solutions. Working with Amadeus supports us in our mission to provide a sustainable, safe and secure environment and to increase the service level quality for our customers continuously.”
Pristina is a growing airport, having recently developed its infrastructure and extended its route network to accommodate an increase in in-flight numbers. As a result, Amadeus’ tech – which can improve the airport’s operational agility and minimize costs associated with areas like check in and baggage weighing – is becoming a necessity. Currently, the airport welcomes around 2 million travellers every year.
