Adobe doubles down on AI in update to Cloud Platform
It’s official: Adobe’s popular Cloud Platform is no more – or at least, not under that name. In a wide-ranging update that will see the company insert way more tech power to its sprawling ecosystem, the company is rebranding it as the Experience Platform. Adobe’s software suite includes multiple tools aimed at content, development, and customer relationship management, and this latest update will see them enhanced with what the company is calling the “next generation” of its Sensei artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning framework. At its annual Las Vegas summit this week, it explained the move.

Abhishek Pani, Adobe’s senior director of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and data science, said: “Success for brands today depends on assessing the evolving needs of customers, curating offerings that match with customer’s decision state and measuring the impact of a firm’s decisions on long-term customer value. The customer path is convoluted, with moments spanning digital and physical worlds. While AI has made progress as of late, it’s been siloed within individual teams to refine specific tasks. We’ve yet to see AI truly transform enterprises and power what brands really need — real-time decision making to ultimately drive better customer experiences.”
It is towards this end that Adobe is infusing its Experience Platform with Sensei. The tech is being leveraged in numerous incredible ways, such as the continuous tracking and analysing of “millions” of users’ behavioural data, and the “automatic” triggering of experiences at “optimal” times to boost engagement. Adobe’s counting on this new, supercharged, toolkit to deliver a new kind of impactful “experience” to its enterprise users. Adobe fellow and vice president of technology, Anil Kamath, added:
“Hundreds of features across Adobe Experience Cloud … have already enabled marketers, data scientists and others to intelligently automate cumbersome processes and uncover better insights. Adobe’s new AI services are an industry-first and will further elevate the role of AI in the enterprise. [These new features go] beyond novel feature implementations. [They] empower businesses to make mission-critical decisions much better and faster.”
