It’s Women’s Month at Landmark Mandarin Oriental
The Landmark Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong is spending March celebrating women. Beginning on March 8 – International Women’s Day – a charitable photographic exhibit will be open for bids from interested patrons. The exhibition is the work of Sean Lee-Davies, artist and filmmaker, and his models are 10 standout women from Hong Kong, including swimmer Stephanie Au, chef May Chow, and top model Janet Ma.
However, it is not just photographs of these impressive women up for grabs – the auction also includes special “one-off” experiences offered by each of them. Racecar driver Denise Yeung will take her winning bidder out on the racetrack; Quintessentially’s group CEO for Asia Pacific, Emma Sherrard Matthew, will take her lucky bidder out for a “breakfast or lunch mentoring session”.
The remaining five women are equally accomplished: Desiree Au, journalist and board member of The Women’s Foundation; Gabrielle Rush, New Zealand consulate general to Hong Kong and Macau; Joo Soo Tang, a prominent health advocate; popular singer Joyce Cheng; and Karen Mok, artist and philanthropist.
Torsten van Dullemen, the Landmark Mandarin Oriental’s general manager, said:
“The photographs are not only beautiful artworks. They offer all of us an unusual insight into these extraordinary personal experiences, each woman’s dreams and the challenges they have overcome.”
As well as in-person bidding, silent bidding will be available on The Women’s Foundation’s web site. The Landmark Mandarin Oriental will also be tweaking its product offering for the month, introducing a female-focused spa package that includes a 90-minute “aromatherapy facial”.
The company’s other properties will also be celebrating International Women’s Day, as Mandarin looks to emphasise the importance of its female customers.
Dominion holds Mandarin Oriental in its Global Trends Luxury Fund.
