Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop products to appear on Net-a-porter

Paltrow’s ambition to provide a natural and holistic organic luxury lifestyle – inclusive of dietary advice, skin creams, perfumes, alternative healthcare provisions, and more – has, occasionally, come under fire. Famously, she embraced pseudoscientific research that claimed human consciousness could alter the molecular structure of water – much to the disbelief of science-literate commentators. But none of the criticisms leveled against her or her products seem to have dented their appeal.

If anything, Goop’s popularity has grown in equal measure to its unpopularity – just in different circles. Goop’s customers tend to be fans of Paltrow, and aspire to emulate her lifestyle by consuming the same products and living the same ‘style’ of life that she does. This has proved to be a multi-million dollar success for the actress.

Goop’s products trend towards the natural and the organic, and occasionally stray into New Age territory; but they all start with a premium price point. Goop is the kind of place you buy a Yurt for $8,300, or a $120 tube of toothpaste. Now, you’ll be able to buy a variety of those products on Net-a-porter’s online retail platform. Products slated to appear include the 12-piece Goop collection, Goop skin care, and Goop fragrance. This marks the first time Goop fragrance will ever be sold by an outside retailer.

Paltrow told the media:

“We’ve had a rich history of successful content and experiential partnerships with Net-a-porter, so it was natural for us to evolve that synergy into Ecommerce. Goop’s tightly-edited digital shop is one of our hallmarks, and this is the first time we’re lending that curation to an outside e-commerce retailer. The edit includes some of my favorite Goop products — elevated basics from the Italian-made Goop Label apparel collection, award-winning items from our organic skin-care line and beautiful fragrances that are free of harmful chemicals.”
