Assa Abloy door wins coveted industry award
Global security market leader Assa Abloy is no stranger when it comes to designing doors, and that experience has paid off in a big way with its latest product, the Integris Door. The door in question is a moisture resistant design suitable for internal or external use – particularly wet or humid environments. And it’s so successful that it has been crowned the winner of the GOOD DESIGN Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. This accolade is amongst the most prestigious in the industry, and frequently has many thousands of entries submitted.

Jan McKenzie, Assa Abloy’s director of national accounts, made the following statement on behalf of the company:
"We're proud to have Integris recognized for the unique opening solution it provides. This award underscores the value of moisture-resistant doors for buildings in the hospitality and healthcare markets. With Integris, building owners get a dependable door that withstands the conditions of damp areas while extending the natural beauty of wood throughout a facility."
Before Integris doors were available, some of the most difficult applications in door fitting were restricted to fiberglass and aluminum – functional, perhaps, but not beautiful. The company thinks there is a big market in hospitality, healthcare, and other industries, that will jump at the chance to have a product that works well while looking good.
When the Integris doors were first announced, at the end of 2015, David Jordan, Assa Abloy’s director of sales support, said:
“Architects and building owners have been clamoring for a doorway solution that would enable the natural look of wood to flow throughout a facility. Integris fills the need for a reliable, sturdy and aesthetically- appealing door that can withstand the conditions of damp areas. The moisture resistant properties make this door ideal for restrooms, locker rooms and shower areas, swimming pool and spa access, medical rehab facilities, cleaning supply storage rooms, and more.”
The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design seems to agree with him
